As an entertainer I combine oral storytelling and folksong to develop themes which may be presented solo as a talk/show or along with others such as dancers for a staged show. Since moving to Parry Sound and traveling back and forth to Edinburgh, Scotland I have presented on both side of the Atlantic to community groups and Festivals.
Starting in 2009 I developed a Fall Series for the West Parry Sound Museum with themes that relate to history. Titles have been "ACROSS CANADA FROM RIVERS TO RAIL", "INTO THE WOODS AND OUT OF THE BUSH", "HERRING & BANNOCK", "1812 CONNECTIONS", "CALL THE DOCTOR", "THE SALTIRE AND OTHER THINGS SCOTTISH", "BALLADS", "REMNANTS AND ANNIVERSARIES" and "A TRIP THROUGH THE OLD TOWN OF EDINBURGH". For community groups and senior day centres the theme often relates to our Scottish/Canadian connections and my going back and forth with a story. I continue to be available to community groups and welcome new themes and ideas.
